Yerköprü Şelalesi Tabiat Parkı
Located in the Mut district of Mersin, in the triangle formed by Mut, Ermenek and Gülnar, the 117.5-hectare Yerköprü Waterfall Nature Park was placed under protection as a natural monument in 2001 and gained nature park status in 2021. The Ermenek Stream flows through the area. At the heart of the park lies Yerköprü Waterfall, formed by the faulting of limestone layers dating back 110 million years. In this natural wonder, where highly carbonated spring water formed travertines over time, the waters cascade from a height of about 30 meters over stalactite-shaped mosses into the Ermenek Stream. Inside the roughly 250-meter water tunnel that feeds the waterfall are colorful stalactites whose natural state remains untouched. The blue of the water, the green of the surroundings and the movement of the fish in the water combine with birdsong to offer a visual feast. Dominated by red pine forests, with plane trees lining the stream banks, the area has a rich diversity of plants and animals. The park, 205 km from Mersin and 35 km from the town of Mut, is reached by turning toward Ermenek from the Silifke-Mut-Karaman road and continuing 10 km along the road branching off from Evren Mahallesi.
