Artabel Gölleri Tabiat Parkı
Declared in 1998, the 5,859-hectare Artabel Lakes Nature Park is located in the Torul district of Gümüşhane and takes its name from the nearby village of Artabel. With more than twenty glacial lakes, its rugged topography and rich vegetation, it offers one of the most impressive examples of high-mountain nature. With its unique landscapes, strong wildlife potential and clean air, the park is a true field of discovery for hiking enthusiasts. Three different tour routes in the park lead visitors among the glacial lakes. The first route is a tour of about 8 km that starts from Artabel Yaylası, passes six glacial lakes and ends at the same plateau. The second route starts from Dulağa Yaylası and stretches along five glacial lakes and scenic viewpoints. The third route is a more challenging trail of about 5 km, running from Kürtmezarı Yaylası to Gölönü Yaylası and overlooking the Yıldız and Acembol lakes. The park, 50 km from the center of Gümüşhane and 28 km from the district of Torul, is reached via the Gümüşhane-Trabzon highway. The area has only an administrative visitor center.
