Tomara Şelalesi Tabiat Parkı
Located in the Şiran district of Gümüşhane, Tomara Waterfall Nature Park was registered as a recreation area in 2007 and converted into a nature park in 2011. Holding First-Degree Natural Protected Area status together with its surroundings, the park is a cool natural paradise with rugged topography at an average elevation of 1,358 meters, where its waterfall rushes down in full torrent. In the area, surrounded by elevations such as Çiçekli Sırtı, Kabukluyokuşu and Hanzar, 103 different plant taxa have been identified, five of them recorded as endemic. In the park, accompanied by the waterfall and the valley scenery, visitors can go hiking, cycling and rock climbing, enjoy the views and observe wildlife; events showcasing local products also welcome visitors. June to September is the most suitable period to visit the park. The park, about 14 km from the Şiran district center, is reached via the Bayburt-Şebinkarahisar road, following the signposts along the route through the villages of Arıtaş and Seydibaba or Sarıca and Çakırkaya.
