Çamlıca Tabiat Parkı (Kütahya)
Located only 7 km from Kütahya city center, Çamlıca Nature Park, declared in 2011 with an area of 34.60 hectares, serves as the city's nature education center. One of the few nature parks operated by Kütahya Municipality instead of the DKMP, the park possesses an old-growth forest of high conservation value with its 80-100-year-old black pine cover. In addition to black pine, various tree and shrub species such as cypress, cedar, rosehip, hazelnut, walnut and willow make up the park's rich flora. The park's most distinctive asset is its Taxidermy Museum: as one of the rare places with a taxidermy museum inside a nature park, it carries particular educational value for school trips. Scenic viewing, walking routes and gastronomy make it attractive for day visitors; a designated camping area with a capacity of 11 tents also offers the possibility of staying overnight. The park can be reached directly from the city center by public bus number 20. May to October is the most suitable season, with the October-November period standing out for autumn leaf colors.
