Işıklı Gökgöl Sulak Alanı
The Işıklı and Gökgöl Wetland is located in the Inner Western Anatolian part of the Aegean Region, within the boundaries of Denizli's Çivril district and partly Afyonkarahisar's Dinar district. Situated at the deepest point of a tectonic depression stretching between the Akdağ and Bozdağ massifs, the area encompasses Lake Işıklı at an elevation of 821 meters, together with the 300-hectare Gökgöl and the surrounding reed beds and marshes. Two major ecosystems, wetland and terrestrial, coexist in the area: open-water, waterside and reed-marsh-peatland environments alongside maquis, rural settlement and agricultural areas. Research has identified 156 plant species belonging to 44 families, among them 2 endemic species such as the cyclamen and the mad-dog weed. The water hyacinth, water crowfoot and cornelian cherry are among the other species that can be seen in the area. Suitable for birdwatching, this wetland lies about 12 km southeast of Çivril's center. It was registered as a Wetland of National Importance in 2016.
