Kadıralak Tabiat Parkı
Located within the borders of Trabzon's Tonya district, the 363.80-hectare Kadıralak Nature Park was declared a nature park in 2017 due to its natural resource values and its recreation potential. Displaying the character of an entirely natural habitat, the area preserves its integral structure in a healthy state. In this area, where subalpine meadow-pasture communities such as the Kadıralak Yaylası, which gives the park its name, intertwine, the dominant natural cover is the Eastern Black Sea Mixed Broadleaf Forest. Among the conifers, spruce, and among the broadleaves, beech and alder stand out; species such as hornbeam, oak, maple, chestnut, linden, rhododendron, cherry laurel and rowan form mixed stands. Rocky systems occur in places in the north, south and east of the area, and forest clearings at the upper elevations; species such as the forest hyacinth enhance the floristic richness. Suitable for day recreation, trekking and walking routes, the park is also well suited to hiking and cycling. The nearest airport is Trabzon Airport, about 71 km away. From Trabzon city center, Tonya is reached via the Black Sea Coastal Road (E-70); the area is reached about 2 km after the Kadıralak Yaylası road junction, roughly 600 m north of the district center.
