Kuzalan Tabiat Parkı
Declared in 2013 in Giresun's Dereli district, the 500-hectare Kuzalan Nature Park is a rich piece of Black Sea nature with its waterfalls, cave and travertine formations. Kuzalan Waterfall on the Taşpınar stream plunges from a height of about 20 meters into the Aksu creek; with its abundant water flow lasting from the winter months until the end of May, it creates a unique sight. Along the valley there are five separate waterfalls, three floodplain forests and a cave containing stalactite and stalagmite formations. The calcareous waters extending for about 2,800 meters from the point where the Taşpınar stream empties have formed white travertine terraces just like those in Pamukkale. Among the spruce, beech, hornbeam, oak and fir forests, giant beech, fir and spruce trees with monumental tree status can be found. The park, 45 km from Giresun and 13 km from the Dereli district, is reached via the Giresun-Şebinkarahisar-Sivas highway; to reach the travertines and mineral water springs, continue on from the Mavigöl area.
