Marmara Gölü
The Marmara Lake, located in the middle of the Gölmarmara, Salihli and Ahmetli districts in Manisa, was registered in 2017 as a wetland of national importance. Together with its buffer zone, the lake and its surroundings cover an area of 24,893 hectares and are home to rich biological diversity with 355 plant species, 162 bird species, 11 fish species and 32 mammal species. A productive spot for bird watchers, the lake, with its location on migration routes, offers the opportunity to observe different species together. The lake's wetland management plan was prepared in 2018 and adopted in 2019 by the National Wetland Commission. It should also be noted that due to the drought experienced in the summer of 2022, the water in the lake completely receded.
