Mesir Tabiat Parkı
The Mesir Nature Park, located within the boundaries of the Uncubozköy Neighborhood in Manisa's Yunusemre district, was declared a nature park in 2008. Initially covering 70 dönüm, the site was expanded to 120 dönüm in 2013 due to growing visitor interest and became one of the city's most beloved natural recreation areas. Extending along the northern foothills of Mount Spil, the park harbors forest and maquis-phrygana ecosystems together. While Turkish red pine, poplar, plane, blue cypress, oleander, myrtle and oak trees form a rich vegetation cover, species such as wild boar, fox, hare, squirrel, partridge and wood pigeon bring life to the area. The Bozköy Stream running through the middle of the park is fed by the highlands and flows for about eight months of the year before merging into the Gediz River. On the high eastern section there is a wall ruin that can be easily made out from the observation points; this structure, dating from the Late Roman to the Ottoman period, is thought to have belonged to an aqueduct. Visitors can spend time in the park with nature walks, cycling, history tours and observing endemic plants.
