Yamanlardağı Tabiat Parkı (Ziyarete Kapalı)
Located on the slopes of Yamanlar Mountain in İzmir's Karşıyaka district, the roughly 40-hectare Yamanlardağı Nature Park was placed under protection in 2011. The site's history differs from that of an ordinary forest park: it was once used by the Ministry of Health as a sanatorium for tuberculosis treatment, a health-oriented facility noted for its high oxygen levels. In this respect, the park is one of the rare areas that brings together nature and medical history. The site contains building remains such as the old hotel building and stone bungalows. Considered together with the neighboring İzmir Karagöl Nature Park on the same mountain range, it holds the potential of a special destination uniting the themes of history, nature, and health. Important note: The park is currently closed to visitors. Before planning a visit, the situation should be verified with the İzmir Nature Conservation and National Parks Branch Directorate. It is about 17 km from the center of Karşıyaka.
