İzmir Karagöl Tabiat Parkı
İzmir Karagöl Nature Park is an 18.92-hectare protected area at the Yamanlar Dağı locality in the Menemen district, 850 meters above sea level. Karagöl, a landslide-dammed lake formed as a result of geological movements, constitutes the area's main natural asset together with the surrounding forest. The park and its surroundings offer suitable routes for hiking, photo safaris and cycling trips. The site has a country café, a kiosk and picnic units, as well as a tent camping and caravan area. Boat rides are also possible by the lakeshore, making the area a pleasant getaway for day recreation and scenic viewing. The park, 35 km from İzmir's city center and 23 km from Karşıyaka's Örnekköy Mahallesi, is reached via an asphalt-paved road with plenty of bends. Every bend along the climb offers a magnificent view of the bay.
