Soğuksu Milli Parkı
Declared in 1959 and today reaching a size of 1,187 hectares, Soğuksu National Park lies between the Kızılcahamam district of Ankara and Çamlıdere, just west of the district center. Set in a valley wrapped in pine forests, the park is known as the lungs of Ankara. The natural coniferous forest, dominated by black pine, intertwines with Scots pine and fir at higher elevations and with downy oak communities at lower elevations. This rich forest fabric offers a favorable environment for observing birds and wildlife. Nature walks, cycling routes, nature education, scenic viewing and day recreation are the park's most prominent activities. Access to the park is via Ankara Caddesi, which branches off the Ankara-Bolu (D750) highway passing through the Kızılcahamam district center; the park is adjacent to the district center.
