Cehennem Deresi Kanyonu Tabiat Parkı
Declared a nature park in 2018, the roughly 31.8-hectare Cehennem Deresi Canyon Nature Park in the Ardanuç district of Artvin is a protected area that stands out for ecotourism thanks to its natural beauty as well as its geological and geomorphological formations and the cultural assets in its immediate surroundings. The entire area lies within a Qualified Natural Conservation Area. Caves of various sizes hidden inside the canyon, deciduous shrubs, tall herbaceous plant communities and high mountain meadows create a visual feast. The vegetation, which includes species such as fig, dyer's sumac, Greek juniper, plane and white willow, is home to wildlife such as hare, squirrel, jackal, fox, pine marten, badger, brown bear, roe deer and wildcat. Walking inside the canyon is possible; at the park entrance, a café welcomes visitors. The park on the Artvin-Ardanuç road is reached by asphalt road, about 38 km from the Artvin provincial center.
