Camili-Efeler Tabiatı Koruma Alanı
Placed under protection in 1998, the Camili-Efeler Nature Conservation Area, in Artvin's Borçka district, is one of the rare forest ecosystems untouched by human hands not only in Türkiye but in almost all of Europe. Possessing biosphere reserve quality, the area is extremely rich in biodiversity and stands out as a gene conservation zone for the pure Caucasian bee breed. In this pristine nature covered by linden, chestnut and oriental spruce forests, birds of prey such as sparrowhawk, falcon and buzzard, along with the bear, are the emblems of the wildlife. Offering unique potential for scientific research and nature observation, the site is an open nature laboratory for those who know how to preserve its silence. The area, about 67 km from Borçka, is reached by following the Camili road through the villages of Aralık, Atanoğlu, Düzenli and Efeler.
