Karşıyaka Tabiat Parkı
Declared in 2015, Karşıyaka Nature Park covers an area of 84 hectares, roughly 1 kilometer as the crow flies from the city center of Gümüşhane. Named after the nearby Karşıyaka neighborhood, the park has rugged terrain adorned with natural and planted Scots pine forests. Forests accompanied here and there by scattered hazel, oak and trembling aspen; clearings mixed with species such as wild pear, hawthorn and rowan; shrublands, steep rocky cliffs and meadow areas make up the park's rich ecosystem diversity. This variety of scenery turns the park into an enjoyable route for nature walks and nature observation. Karşıyaka Nature Park is reached by road via the route leading to the Merkez-Gürgen settlement.
