Sorgun Göleti Tabiat Parkı
Declared in 2011, Sorgun Göleti Nature Park is a protected natural area stretching around the pond within the Güdül district of Ankara. With a boundary adjustment made in 2016, the area's size was increased to 54 hectares. The park presents a characteristic landscape with black pine, juniper and oak groves appearing as islets in the middle of the Central Anatolian steppe; small trees and shrubs such as wild pear, hawthorn, wild rose, wild plum and barberry enrich this cover. The pond's shore allows for a range of nature experiences, from tent and caravan camping to day picnics. Hiking and cycling are possible on the surrounding walking routes; angling on the pond and short outings by rowboat are enjoyable. The park is reached from Ankara by two separate routes: the approximately 104 km road turning off toward Güdül on the Ayaş road and reaching Sorgun Mahallesi, or the 103 km route branching onto the Güdül road at the 60th kilometer of the Ankara-Istanbul motorway and continuing via Çeltikçi.
