Kelebekler Vadisi Tabiat Parkı (Ankara)
Declared in 2016, the 176.68-hectare Kelebekler Vadisi Nature Park lies within Geyikpınarı, in the Beypazarı district of Ankara. (It should not be confused with the valley of the same name in Fethiye, Muğla; this is a separate butterfly nature reserve specific to Beypazarı.) With its lively topography, the park is a dramatic area consisting of two valleys and the surrounding hills, with elevations ranging from 760 meters to 1,010 meters. To the east lies the Kelebekler Vadisi, which gives the park its name, and to the south the İnözü Valley, known for its famous terrace point overlooking the town center of Beypazarı. Kelebekler Vadisi is one of Beypazarı's richest corners in terms of botany and butterfly fauna. Fed by thyme, lavender and mountain flowers, this paradise for butterfly watching presents observers with dozens of different species in the spring and summer months. Among the black pines, junipers, oaks and mountain steppes also live hares, foxes, martens, rock partridges and migrating birds of prey. There are no lodging facilities within the park; the area is ideal for day scenic viewing, wildlife watching and nature walks. Combined with Beypazarı's silverwork, spice markets and stone house architecture, it makes a family-friendly day route. The park, about 2.6 km from Ankara's Beypazarı district center, is reached via the Beypazarı-Karaşar road.
