Bentler Tabiat Parkı
Declared in 2011 and one of the nine nature parks within the Belgrad Forest, Bentler Nature Park spreads over an area of approximately 16.30 hectares in the Sarıyer district of Istanbul. It takes its name from the Valide Sultan Dam and the Mahmud II Dam to the north of the area. Built in the Ottoman period to meet the city's water needs and known as the Taksim Water Dams, the Valide Sultan Dam was constructed in 1796 and the Sultan Mahmud II Dam in 1839. The park also contains the Iskara Dam and historic fountains. The rich forest cover dominated by oak and hornbeam is crowned by a 269-year-old plane tree registered as a monumental tree adjacent to the Valide Sultan Dam. Where historic water structures and forest intertwine, the park offers pleasant routes for hiking, cycling tours, day recreation and photography. It is entered from two points: the main entrance gate of the Belgrad Forest and the Kurtkemeri entrance gate. From both the Anatolian and the European side, you can reach Bahçeköy by metro and bus lines, and from there easily reach the area.
