Irmak Tabiat Parkı
One of the nine nature parks within Belgrad Ormanı (Belgrad Forest) in Istanbul's Sarıyer district, Irmak Nature Park was declared in 2011 and takes its name from the stream that runs through the area. The park of about 10 hectares has a rich flora and fauna; the dominant tree species are oak and hornbeam. Sessile oak, Kasnak oak, oriental beech, alder and Anatolian chestnut are the main species that make up the dense broadleaf cover. Various water structures belonging to the historic Kırkçeşme Water Supply Line are found within the park. Büyük Bend is one of them, while Çiftehavuz is another water structure; although it has lost part of its original fabric through various repairs, it still continues to serve its function. Suitable for hiking, nature tours and cycling along the forest trails, the park is located on the Bahçeköy-Kemerburgaz road, across from Kirazlıbent Nature Park. After reaching the Bahçeköy neighborhood by public transport, only a short distance remains to the site.
