Kirazlıbent Tabiat Parkı
One of the nine nature parks within the Belgrad Forest in Istanbul's Sarıyer district, Kirazlıbent Nature Park was declared in 2011. It takes its name from Kirazlı Bent, the dam that Mahmud II had built on the Kirazlı Stream in 1818, the last dam of the historic Kırkçeşme Water Supply Line. The park of about 19.14 hectares has a rich flora and fauna. In the forest, made up of trees that are in places young and in places centuries old; such as sessile oak and Kasnak oak, hornbeam, Anatolian chestnut, black pine and oriental beech; live species such as red deer, red fox, wild boar, golden jackal, hedgehog and squirrel. It is also a lively area with its waterfowl and songbirds. Ideal for day recreation, nature walks and tour routes, the park is easily reached by public transport. Entering the Belgrad Forest through the Bahçeköy gate, it lies on the road in the direction of Kemerburgaz, directly opposite Irmak Nature Park.
