Mehmet Akif Ersoy Tabiat Parkı
The Mehmet Akif Ersoy Nature Park, one of the nine nature parks within the Belgrad Forest in Istanbul's Sarıyer district, was declared in 2011 and takes its name from the poet Mehmet Akif Ersoy. Spread over an area of about 23 hectares, the park has a rich flora and fauna; the dominant tree species are oak and hornbeam. Species such as oriental plane, black pine, silver linden, ash and oriental beech accompany the forest. In the shade of mature forest trees, the park offers an ideal setting for nature walks, nature tours and cycling. With scenic viewpoints, a café and event areas, it provides those seeking day-use relaxation a peaceful escape close to the city. The park is reached by private vehicle from the coastal road via the Çayırbaşı turnoff, or from the Levent-Maslak direction by following the Bahçeköy signs. The main entrance gate is on the Bahçeköy-Çayırbaşı road; those coming by public transport can reach the park by taxi after arriving at the Bahçeköy district. The park can be visited every day from 09:00 to 20:00. Admission is charged; pedestrian entry is 60 TL per day and car entry 180 TL.
