Falih Rıfkı Atay Tabiat Parkı
Declared in 2011, Falih Rıfkı Atay Nature Park is one of the nine nature parks within the Belgrad Forest in Istanbul's Sarıyer district and takes its name from the famous Turkish writer Falih Rıfkı Atay. The area of approximately 16.33 hectares is covered with the typical broad-leaved species of the Belgrad Forest, above all pedunculate oak and Kasnak oak; deer, roe deer, wild boar, foxes, and various songbirds make up this rich fauna. Within the park's boundaries lie Belgrad Village, where the Serbian captives brought back by Kanuni Sultan Süleyman on his return from the Belgrade campaign lived, and the ruins of a church registered as a cultural asset to be protected. The day-use areas are well suited to picnicking; there is a children's playground and a country restaurant in the area, and nature walks can be taken on the forest paths. Directly opposite the park stretches the Deer Breeding Site. It can be reached from Kemerburgaz via the Göktürk and Kurtkemeri route, or from the Bahçeköy entrance of the Belgrad Forest via its neighbour, Neşet Suyu Nature Park.
