Göztepe Tabiat Parkı
Declared in 2013 and covering about 59 hectares, Göztepe Nature Park is a rich natural area in the Beykoz district of Istanbul, taking its name from the nearby Göztepe neighborhood. Maritime pine dominates the forest, which consists mainly of coniferous trees; black pine, laurel, strawberry tree and oak species also add diversity to the area. Home to squirrels, rabbits, woodpeckers and various bird species, the park offers a pleasant getaway for those who want to meet nature within the city. The picnic units under the pine trees, children's playgrounds and day-use areas are convenient for families. Nature walks and cycling tours can be done on the forest roads. The park is easily reached from the 2nd Bosphorus Bridge, heading in the Kavacık-Çavuşbaşı direction and continuing via the Mahmut Şevket Paşa road.
