Mihrabat Tabiat Parkı
Rising on a hill overlooking the Bosphorus in Kanlıca, in Istanbul's Beykoz district, Mihrabat Nature Park was declared in 2011. This green grove of approximately 20 hectares takes its name from the Mihrabat Pavilion, built during the grand vizierate of Nevşehirli İbrahim Paşa. Opening onto Bosphorus views, the park has a rich flora and fauna. Broad-leaved trees such as hornbeam, Anatolian chestnut, oriental plane, linden and oak stand alongside coniferous and scale-leaved species such as stone pine, Himalayan cedar, Lebanon cedar and Mediterranean cypress; shrubs such as strawberry tree, laurel, Judas tree and holly complete this cover. The park can be reached from the coastal road via Kanlıca or via the TEM connection from the Kavacık Tekke area. With its Bosphorus-view lookout points, nature walks and day-trip recreation, the park offers a pleasant escape for those who want to catch their breath in the middle of the city.
