Park Orman Tabiat Parkı
Declared a nature park in 2008, Parkorman Nature Park covers a green area of about 148 hectares within Fatih Forest in the Sarıyer district of Istanbul. Right in the middle of the city, this protected area, home to a rich flora and fauna, is a breathing point for those who want to escape the pace of the city and meet nature. The area contains predominantly coniferous trees together with broadleaf species in places. Alongside Austrian pine, red pine, Scots pine, and stone pine, species such as Hungarian oak, pedunculate oak, Anatolian chestnut, oriental beech, hornbeam, and oriental plane add a rich texture to the forest. The variety of small trees and shrubs is particularly striking; the ornamental plants around the concert area and the Japanese Garden add a distinct color to the area. Reached via Maslak Büyükdere Caddesi in the direction of Sarıyer, the park offers day visitors a pleasant getaway with routes suitable for hiking, cycling, and nature tours.
